Our Story | About

Mount Carmel Goats started with neighbors being neighborly.

Some neighbors pulled up into our driveway one day, introduced themselves, and requested
to meet our goats. We discovered we weren't alone in our love and appreciation for these
incredible animals.

Then another neighbor. Then another neighbor. We discovered that time spent with our
goats left us all better off as human beings. Imagine that...goats helping communities become
more connected and acting more neighborly?

While serving many purposes for our family’s homestead, one was clearing away the English
ivy, poison ivy, Chinese privet, thorn bushes, among many other WNC invasives. Then, one
of these neighbors requested that our goats pay them a visit to their property. Mount Carmel
Goats was born.

Three years later, Mount Carmel Goats is a family owned and operated business specializing
in landscape beautification, wildfire mitigation, pasture reclamation, and mountainside
clearing within a variety of applications: urban, suburban, rural, farmland, and/or forestry
environments. We work alongside municipalities, corporations, condominium
communities, and residential neighborhoods to access and provide solutions to their land
clearing needs.

We put our goats to work in a non-invasive, sustainable, and environmentally conscious way
that leaves properties better than we found them. While our goats certainly have a reputation
for getting the job done, Mount Carmel Goats seek to extend the same strong neighborly
relationships that were first extended to us. We believe part of the reason our goats are here
is to serve you.

Our Process

Our process is as SIMPLE as 1,2,3,4.  We do 100% of the work.

  1. During our free consultation, we meet potential clients, agree on a scope of work, establish a realistic timeline for the clearing job, then provide a clearing estimate.

  2. We arrive prior to the start date, set up a perimeter of electric netting, and a temporary shelter.

  3. We drop the goats off on the scheduled start date.

  4. Once the clearing job completes, we pick up the goats, the electric netting and shelter, and say our goodbyes.

Saying goodbye, the joy of a job well done!
